Unique places to stay
With tender feelings we look at the 28 meters high medieval tower. This is definitly one of the most unique places to stay in Italy if you ask us. The tower built out of natural stone and renovated by masters of Italian architecture, is inspiring us. We sit down by the pool, together with the owners Luca and Emilia. And we look up at the impressive tower, which stands out against the blue sky.
This medieval tower is without a doubt also one of the most unusual places to stay. We walk through the olive grove, admire the panorama point walk to the vegetable garden. We rest a second under the romantic grape pergola with dining table and barbecue. Then we continue our walk towards the entrance of the tower.
Luckily we are not afraid of heights, because via an external staircase we arrive at the main entrance. Here we find a cosy bedroom with bathroom. A narrow stone staircase takes us to the kitchen with dining table, and a recently renovated, modern bathroom. On the third floor we find a lovely living room with fireplace. In the corner, behind the room divider hides a double bed. On the fourth floor we find the most romantic bedroom of all, also this bedroom has his own modern bathroom and of course the best view. The original purpose of the big windows was to catch sight of the enemy’s armies during the war. The ground floor and basement in this time were used as a shelter for cannons and today are only used as history story material. The last floor is different than all other floors. With Emilia and Luca we walk up the spiral staircase and once up on the roof we cannot believe our eyes. We are standing on an immense roof terrace with a 360 degree view! Emilia points eastwards, where we can see the fort of Volterra and in the background San Gimignano. Perfect for a day trip if you even want to leave this magical place. She tells about how Montecatini and his tower, once belonged to the Florentines. Today Montecatini belongs to the region of Pisa. When we turn around to the opposite site we see the Tuscan coast with the islands Elba, Capraia and Corsica in the distance. Is this real? It seems like a fairy tale to us.
While every VIP accommodation is absolutely gorgeous, no true Tuscan VIP experience is complete without our special VIP treatments. Treatments and experiences we personally compose for every family or group. Some suggestions fitting this unusual stay: cooking classes at home, personal chef at home, or a family balloon flight!
Luca and Emilia live in a cute house next to the tower and they are always at their guests disposal. At the same time they respect the privacy of the guests for a 100%. Luca is responsible for the maintenance of the swimming pool and the garden. Also the vegetable garden is always in perfect condition, the guest can pick as often and as many fruits and vegetables as they like.
* The price is based on 6 persons, the tower offers comfort up to 8 people. A surcharge of € 30 per night gets applies for each additional person. Luca and Emilia have put thought into this price set to make their tower even more attractive for families and smaller groups.
