Driving through the rolling hills, passing vineyards and lines of Cypresstrees, to stop at our final destination; a local wine farm. In the end a holiday in Tuscany can only be complete when you have tasted the world famous Tuscan wines. Walking trough the vineyards with local experts and visiting the wine cellar while the process of wine production is been explained. The wine tasting is organized in the middle of the vineyard at a long table or in the wine cellar (the cantina). The optimal location where a professional sommelier explains the passion of wine and how the wine can be tasted in the best way. Along with the wines Tuscan delicacies will be served.
Wine tasting: the taste experience!
You will certainly taste some world-famous DOCG wines such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The abbreviation DOCG stands for ‘Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita’ and is an important quality mark that sets strict requirements for the maximum yield of wine, the maximum yield of grapes per hectare and the alcohol content of the wine. Also a big chance that DOC wines (Vini a Denominazione di Origine Controllata) as Moscadello di Montalcino and Valdichiana will be tasted. The Sassicaia wines from Bolgheri will certainly be tasted along the coast. The trendy ‘Super Tuscans’ mainly made out of the Sangiovese grape and a Vin Santo from northern Tuscany could be one of the closures to conclude a Tuscan wine.
